SUPER SPINACH
Hunger is rising across Haiti.
But in the hills around the CODEP compound, something green is growing—and it’s feeding more than just stomachs.
His name is Jamison, and he’s not tending a few plants by his doorstep.
He has turned every sunlit patch of land around the compound into a lush, living spinach patch.
He didn’t clear the land.
He didn’t ask permission.
He just found the sun—and planted hope.
Now, thousands of spinach plants are thriving.
The locals call it “epinach.”
It’s hearty. It’s nutritious. It’s delicious.
And most importantly—it’s reaching the hands of the people who need it most.
In a country where food insecurity is hitting record levels, bundles of this dark green miracle are being cooked into savory dishes.
Some sauté it with garlic, onions, and tomato.
Others blend it like a pesto to marinate meat.
This is what community looks like when it refuses to give up.

And Jamison isn’t stopping there.
Next up? Garlic.
He plans to plant it near the Woodmizer—the machine that cuts timber for construction.
(We’re trusting there’ll be more cloves than sawdust in the mix.)
This is HRP and CODEP in action.
No fanfare. No headlines.
Just quiet, powerful acts of resilience that change lives, one plant, one person at a time.
