Folks,
Early this morning we packed a truck of medical and relief supplies. Our little group of NGO’s has collected a variety of items such as tarps, bandages (the stretchy cling type), ace bandages, ibuprofen, water, and so forth. I will be heading out with two others to distribute the supplies. It will be a two day trip, we expect.
Ten years ago I arrived in Haiti to help in that earthquake relief effort. I met a number of people and still have many friendships from that time. Felix is one of those friends, and last week I asked him to steer us where we could be the most help. He’s from the area that was hit by the earthquake, and I trust him to tell me what’s what.
He has pointed us to three seaside villages northwest of Port Salut: Port-a-Piment, Les Anglais, and Chardonnieres. Because they are rural they are off the radar of any organized relief efforts and are particularly suffereing. Apparently people are sleeping in the local soccer fields. The clinic was demolished. We hope our supplies will help fill that gap and give a boost to the communities.
Keep Haiti in your prayers.

A medical clinic in Les Cayes was destroyed in the earthquake as were other health care facilities in the city and elsewhere.
