Folks,

It’s Thanks Giving Season, and if anything deserves our attention, it is the environment.

For over 35 years Haiti Reforestation Partnership (HRP) has been committed to restoring the environment in Haiti by empowering and supporting its people in reforesting their land. Indeed, over 17 million trees have been planted by our partners, the Haitian-based COmprehensive DEvelopment Project (CODEP),

Currently the news portrays Haiti as a mess, a real mess. Gang violence is escalating while food, fuel and other necessities are in low supply. People are hungry and struggling.

Nevertheless, the people of CODEP continue in their commitment to planting and nurturing trees. In so very many ways they are environmental heroes and deserve all the possible support we can send to them.

As Giving Tuesday approaches, we take note of this remarkably staunch community and its impact, and we ask that you contribute to their work at HaitiReforest.org.
