Our Executive Director, Michael Anello, usually sends our email updates. This week, however, we are sneaking into the system and sending one of our own. We want to share the news that — wait for it — Michael is On Vacation! A real one. He is actually on a beach, going to museums — somewhere we won’t disclose — in Europe. He turned off his phone.
Michael ostensibly works part time for Haiti Reforest! However he puts in many many more hours than contracted. He also takes the often dangerous trips in and out of Haiti to carry the story of Haiti Reforest to the US. When he is in the States he spends half his time on WhatsApp with people back in Haiti. In other words, Michael never takes vacation, and he’s rarely much removed from the demands of the job.
We hope that this week he is truly kicking back. We appreciate him enormously.
