Folks,

It has been a staggeringly tough year. However, in the face of all the mayhem and catastrophe, I am thrilled to report to you that in November 750 CODEP workers transplanted 294,000 seedlings from the nurseries to the mountainsides.

Stop for a moment and take in that number: Two Hundred and Ninety Four THOUSAND seedlings. Combined with the spring planting, CODEP has planted over a half a million seedlings this year.

How can we hope to understand such an accomplishment? Some families are down to one meal a day. There is effectively no fuel for vehicles. Life is not just hard, it is also very uncertain. Yet, CODEP folks have not abandoned hope. They have not abandoned their work.

We cannot abandon them.

In this holiday season, send a donation. CODEP folks are defying the odds, digging in the soil to give their children a better future. We can – we must – dig deep as well.
